The Barrel Aged Blackbeerd is awesome -- 5 stars!! I had the pleasure of a pint at EVO's on Saturday night. Luscious dark malt chocolate licorice roast coffee flavors with the Jack Daniel's on top. Clean flavored, not at all cloying despite the high gravity, yet rich mouthfeel. That pint was truly a high point in my long beer drinking experience.

Our homebrew club in New Bern, NC (Alcohol Thru Fermentation) will be brewing this style next Saturday as a group. Several of us will be brewing 5 or 10 gal batch and all will be combined in a 53 gal bourbon oak barrel. I hope it turns out half as good as Blackbeerd!

All the best to you guys at Coast.

Regards,
Phil

Too bad we missed it... like the promise of the blog. Live out in S'ville & hope to stop by and see you all. Hey, where is the regular RSS feed link/icon for the blog? Trying to subscribe. Ask Brain about that for us? Found the comments feed... Since this is on wordpress maybe you can add the "subscribe to comments" plugin so we can keep up, too.

thanks - you rock

The new site looks very nice. The blog there is missing an RSS feed however. That is how myself and most of the "interweb" keeps up with these things.

Hey guys, I own a bartending catering service here in Charleston and have a client who wants me to provide some of your beer for a party this Friday night (3/28) and was wondering how to get it. Can you help me out?

Great brewery. My friend and I stopped by this past weekend. Thanks for the hospitality. After our visit we went down the road and toured the Hunley. We mentioned that we had been to the micro down the street and no one knew anything about you. It occured to us that maybe you should think about a dedication brew for the Hunley crew. Might be a good marketing angle and get more recognition for the Hunley. Just a thought and keep making the best beer in Charleston!
